Honorable chairs, student officers and all delegates who are participating in KISMUN 2021, my name is Ha Young, and it is an honor to meet all participants who are taking part in this conference as a delegate in Security Council and a LDP member.

I would first like to share my first experience of debating as a delegate, which was in KISMUN 2019. MUN advanced classes which I participated in previously were too much for me, so I was extremely concerned if I couldn’t do anything in the actual conference. In fact, I came up to the podium 5 times overall with my endless script. I tried to speak up, even though some POIs were too harsh to answer.

After my first conference, I found out that I fully enjoyed every moment, even though I stuttered my words. The experience of myself being timid made me develop into a better person afterwards, and I realized that my debating skills have been fortified after several mistakes and failures of amendments and resolutions.

Delegates, nobody would criticize you about writing long scripts, hesitating to make POIs and being worried about shuddering in front of a number of people. You are never wrong, and the podium is yours. Always encourage yourself and try your best not to be shrinked.

Whoever says, you all have the qualification to become the best suited person in this conference. Have fun, and bear in mind that the floor is always opened for you !

Sincerely,

Hayoung Kwag

Honorable delegates, distinguished student officers, and guests,

I am Yeojin and it is my utmost honor to participate in the Security Council KISMUN2021 as a delegate. Welcome to KISMUN2021.

I’d like to start by tracing back my memory of the first MUN conference two years ago which didn’t start well. At the time, I was helpless without figuring out what people in front of the podium were asserting and how the debate was going on. I considered backing down because of the overwhelming and fear, but I didn’t stop. Since then, I have challenged myself by attending MUN classes. As a result, I was awarded a prize as the most diplomatic delegate in my second MUN conference, KISMUN2020.

Delegates, it is fine hesitating from making speeches and POIs, submitting amendments, or interacting with other delegates. Making mistakes doesn’t matter at all since we are all here to learn, and there are chairs with numerous experiences to support you. However, one thing I would like to point out is that you won’t be able to obtain anything from a MUN conference if you don’t attempt participating.

Although we underwent a tough time preparing for this year’s KISMUN because of covid-19, I can confidently declare that KISMUN2021 will be a great experience. Therefore, I would fervently recommend that you should all try out. Always be reminded that there is no one who can blame you for any reason. You are precious, capable, talented, and you are deserving of respect. The floor is all yours. I wish we all have a thrilling time beyond our limits.

Sincerely,

Yeojin Kim

LDP member of KISMUN2021
